Pricing

One price for the practice. However many of you there are.

We charge for the practice, count only the people a client can actually book, and give every plan every feature. Per-seat pricing punishes you for putting a graduate on the booking page — which is exactly the thing that takes work off your partners.

You are charged for the people a client can choose.

Reception, bookkeepers, administrators and anyone whose diary the booking page never consults do not count and are never charged for.

What is not in the price

Simple is not the same as free.

Setting it up

Free. A new practice starts in test mode, where every booking and every calendar is real and not one message can reach a client. Take a week or take until after BAS — you start paying when you go live, not before.

No percentage

We never take a cut of anything, because we never touch your clients' money at all. No per-booking fee, no charge per client record, and no setup fee on Solo, Practice or Firm.

No lock-in

Month to month on Solo, Practice and Firm. Move up or down a plan yourself, from the admin, without ringing anyone — and cancel the same way.

Questions

The ones partners actually ask.

What counts as a bookable person?

Anyone a client can select, or be allocated to, when they book. If a staff member's diary is never consulted by the booking page, they are free — that includes reception, bookkeepers, administrators and anyone on parental leave.

You can hold a partner out of the "no preference" pool while keeping them bookable by direct link. They still count, because their diary is still being read.

How long is the free trial?

There is no 30-day countdown from the day you sign up. A new practice starts in test mode — real bookings, real calendars, real slot maths, and not one message able to reach a client — and you choose a plan at the moment you go live, because that is the moment it starts doing the job. Firms buy software in the gaps between deadlines, and a trial started in October dies during tax season.

What happens if we stop using it before going live?

We pause the page. If a practice in test mode sits untouched for a month, or three months pass since setup, we stop checking your calendars — with a week's warning by email first, and nothing deleted. Choosing a plan brings it back exactly as you left it. An abandoned practice is deleted after six months, with a month's warning.

Is GST included, and do we get a tax invoice?

Yes and yes. Every price on this page includes GST, and Stripe emails a tax invoice each month from Blue Horse Studios Pty Ltd, ABN 37 689 863 670 — the Melbourne company behind Crazy Duck, and the name you will see on your card statement.

We are in Queensland. Does it know?

Yes. Your practice carries its own state — Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth time, picked up from your browser at signup and changeable on the setup page — and Brisbane stays put in October when the southern states move. A client interstate sees your times in their own zone; you see yours.

What does our receptionist do now?

Exactly what she does today, minus the phone tag. Clients who would rather ring still ring, and she books them into the same diary the page reads. She is never on the booking page and never counted in the price; give her admin access and she sees every booking and can move any of them.

Can we move up or down a plan mid-year?

Yes, from the admin, without talking to anyone. Moving up is pro-rated from that day. Moving down takes effect at your next billing date — we will not refund part of a month, and we will also not stop you.

If you take on three seasonal staff for tax season, move up in July and back down in November. That is a normal thing to do and there is no penalty for it.

Is there a contract or a lock-in?

Month to month on Solo, Practice and Firm. Cancel from the admin at any time; you keep the rest of the month you have paid for. Group plans are an annual agreement because they involve migration work at our end.

Do you take payments from our clients?

No, and we do not plan to. Prices on the booking page are indicative quotes so a client knows roughly what they are in for. Your invoicing, your terms, your trust account, your relationship. We are a scheduler.

We already own Microsoft Bookings. Why not use that?

If you are one person taking one kind of meeting, do — it is free, and it works. It has one shape, a meeting with a person, and an accounting practice books a piece of work, for a client group, at a point in the compliance year. Every length, every format and every add-on becomes one more appointment type for the client to read, which is how one firm's page grew to 41 of them for four services.

Ours arrive as sixteen named, timed meetings and you untick what you do not do. Both read the same Outlook calendar, so nothing about your diary changes — you can connect your own calendar in a minute and send each colleague a link to connect theirs, without a ticket to whoever runs your Microsoft account.

We already use Acuity. Is moving painful?

The configuration is the painful part everywhere, and it is the part we have already done — the catalogue arrives written, so you are ticking rather than typing. Your existing future bookings will not migrate themselves; run both for a fortnight, let the old diary drain, and switch the link on your website.

On the Firm and Group plans we will do the migration with you on a call.

In test mode, and no card.

You choose a plan at the moment you go live, and not before.
